Arthur F. Frantz, age 86 passed away on January 24, 2008 in Niles, Illinois.  He was a WWII Air Force Veteran, husband of the late Marge; father of Robert (Laurie), Sharon (Gary) Gallup, Donna Frank, and Russell (Kathy); Cherished grandfather of many; brother of Don (Dolores), Frank (Mary Ann), Wayne (Janet), and the late Fred, Richard, and Robert; he was also a fond uncle of many.

 Art was a former Major League Umpire in the American League.  Art umpired the 1974 All-Star game and was crew chief of the 1975 World Series. Art umpired the 1975 World Series with fellow umpires Larry Barnett, George Maloney, Nick Colosi, Dave "Satch" Davidson, and Dick Stello.

He is member of the Chicago Hall of Fame. Art was a member of the American Legion, the Alumni Golf League and he was also a member of the Swedish American Club.
